The Elbtower is intended not only to blend into the cityscape and, above all, HafenCity through its complex and harmonious form, but also to form the architectural counterpart to the Elbphilharmonie.

The façade is characterized by the maintenance walkways running around each floor and the floor-to-ceiling vertical sunshade louvers. The greatest challenge is the complex building geometry with the different insert elements in the façade and the resulting multitude of element configurations.
Design & engineering, manufacturing, and installation of 46,700 sqm (502,680 sq ft) of unitised aluminium façades, divided into 33,000 sqm (355,212 sq ft) of office façades, 5,000 sqm (53,820 sq ft) of façades for meeting venues, 4,500 sqm (48,438 sq ft) of hotel façades and 4,200 sqm (45,209 sq ft) of technical façades. Furthermore, 4,000 sqm (43,056 sq ft) of stick-system steel façades, and 550 sqm (5,920 sq ft) of atrium roof featuring a steel-glass roof design as well as glass balustrades and doors are being built.
