The Concept

One Hyde Park is an iconic landmark in the residential market. Four buildings, connected by fully glazed cores, provide 102 of the world’s most prestigious apartments, 4 penthouses, unsurpassed for their architectural finish, and 3 luxury retail units. There are 29,000 sqm (312,200 sq ft) of façade elements built to the highest standards achievable, including unitized, natural ventilated cladding panels and 72 of the world’s largest triple glazed sliding doors. Moreover, six-meter-wide balconies are hung in front of the sliding doors. 9,500 sqm (96,900 sq ft) of hand-patinated, solid copper fins and sheets were used as a feature for the exterior of the buildings. Working with a local artist, our group developed a finish patination process for the fins and sheets based on immersion of copper in chemical baths. The privacy fins were installed using a specially designed lifting device with remote control.
