Central Park Tower, located on Manhattan’s premier 57th Street corridor, will be the tallest residential tower in the world. The building, developed by Extell Development Company, will include ultra-luxury condominium residences, dynamic amenity spaces, as well as a 26,500 sqm (285,000 sq ft) Nordstrom flagship department store. It will become the tallest building by roof height in the Western Hemisphere, reaching 472.4 m (1,550 ft) tall.

Designed by the world-renowned architectural firm Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, Central Park Tower will redefine the famed New York City skyline. The transparent and delicately designed base façade allows natural light to illuminate the department store interior. Above the base, the tower is wrapped in glass with stainless steel and zinc fins as it sets back from the street edge yielding unprecedented views of Central Park, the city, and beyond. Conceived by James Carpenter Design Associates (JCDA), craftspersons in light and glass, the unique 'Waveforms Façade' of the podium mimics the column modulation of the neighboring buildings, while creating a new kind of shopping experience on the interior. The curvature of the glass allows for mullion-less wall design despite the tall floor-to-floor heights required.
The wave form façade enriches the public realm with a dynamic and varied sense of light, encouraging visitors to stand within the illuminated volumes and connect directly to the street and sky.
