The Greenery, HQ Partners Group

The Greenery building, part of the HQ for global private equity firm Partners Group, features a stunning curved Closed Cavity Façade (CCF).

Along with The Foundry and The Factory, The Greenery is one of three workspaces connected by footbridges to encourage collaboration and innovation. Our team was responsible for constructing the dynamic, curved façade of the office building, which is at the heart of the campus in Baar, Switzerland.

The project

The concept

The Greenery is a seven-storey terraced building incorporating generous open spaces. The façade is designed as a ribbon of windows – a curved geometry, without classic corners or edges.

What did we do?

We designed, engineered, manufactured and installed a total of 5,215 sqm of façade for the building. This included 4,881 sqm of Closed Cavity Façade (CCF) – a total of 994 CCF elements consisting of thermally separated, powder-coated aluminium profiles. The cavity between the façade and the building contains motorised blinds integrated into the top of the elements, with flat louvre blades for sun protection.

The building’s sophisticated curved geometry, with 964 different opening angles and 42 different axis widths, demanded innovative solutions in planning and construction. To ‘decode’ the complex geometry and reduce the number of internal mullion profiles required, we used special software. This intelligent design greatly simplified the procurement and manufacture of the elements. The cornice plates/window sills were manufactured from a single piece, without welding.

We also provided 35 exterior doors and a cylindrically-shaped roof skylight for the building, prefabricated at our plant in Germany to ensure quick installation on site.
