Salesforce Tower is the tallest building in San Francisco, soaring to a height of 326m, with a sleek, tapering profile and rounded glass corners.

Situated in the South of Market district of downtown San Francisco, the skyscraper incorporates next-level sustainability, with complex carbon-reducing features that save energy, and the largest blackwater recycling programme in a US commercial high-rise, reducing the water footprint by 76%. The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat named Salesforce Tower the Best Tall Building Worldwide in 2019.

The project

The concept

The tower has a tapering silhouette, with walls of clear glass, and horizontal and vertical metal accents which gradually reduce in depth – emphasising the building’s curved glass corners. 11,000 LED lights were installed at the tower’s crown.

What did we do?

We designed, engineered, manufactured and installed the steel-and-glass curtain wall for Salesforce Tower. High-performance glass was used to reduce the building’s cooling load, while aluminium fins and sunshades help to control solar gain while maximising views and light.
