One Leadenhall

London, UK

One Leadenhall sits in the heart of the City of London, alongside the Grade II listed Leadenhall Market, the Lloyd’s building, medieval churches and on the site of the ancient Roman Forum.

The 35-storey tower provides 40,000 sqm of office accommodation, a public terrace and ground floor retail space. Panoramic views from every floor ensure tenants feel connected to the surrounding cityscape.

The project

The concept

Make Architects designed the building to blend seamlessly with the cityscape. A four-storey masonry ‘street block’ reflects the surrounding architecture, while the tower is topped by three elegant aluminium and glass ‘blades’. Sustainability was a priority – the project is targeting BREEAM Excellent and WELL Gold.

What did we do?

We designed, engineered, manufactured and installed a total of 27,080 sqm of façade elements, including 25,600 sqm of unitised panels with structural silicone glazing made of double-insulated glass and 1,500 sqm of stick system façade. The lower levels of the building include external features made of glass fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC).
