One Boston Wharf Road

One Boston Wharf Road, completed in 2024, is part of the city’s regeneration of its historic working port area into a major new commercial hub.

The 18-storey tower is primarily dedicated for office use, but will also include space for a long-planned performing arts centre and a penthouse on the uppermost floor. The building is Boston’s largest net-zero carbon office development.

The project

The concept

The building’s design evokes the areas maritime history. The complex aluminium-and-glass envelope is composed of multi-layered elements to create visible façade depth, whilst the tower fins have an inset aluminium panel and custom finish to match the podium terracotta.

What did we do?

We designed, produced and installed around 16,000 sqm of bespoke curtain wall façade, with the geometry consisting of sloped, unitised façades on three sides. Colleagues in Italy designed, procured and produced the materials, while our North America team installed them to realise architect Henning Larsen’s vision.
