The MIZAL office campus, which occupies a prominent spot at the entrance to Düsseldorf’s Media Harbour, provides a pleasant working environment characterised by light-flooded rooms, courtyards and balconies.

MIZAL includes two buildings – the 11-storey Mirador and 5-storey Infindo – with a total of 17 loggias and roof gardens. At the time of its construction in 2015, the project was the largest in Germany to be built using our Group’s Closed Cavity Façade (CCF) technology – sustainability was a key priority from the outset and the project went on to achieve DGNB-Gold certification.

The project

The concept

The trend-setting office campus features round corners and a jagged façade contour, with straight, continuous sheet lacquered metal box bands between storeys. The Mirador building is connected to a U-shaped, four-storey annex and a one-storey pavilion.

What did we do?

Our Gartner team designed, engineered, manufactured and installed a total of 17,630 sqm of façade. All but 1,000 sqm of this was custom-made, highly-sustainable Closed Cavity Façade (CCF), with Duraflon coating and integrated venetian blinds to provide protection from sun, damage and dirt. Other elements provided included 820 sqm of aluminium stick system, 170 sqm of steel stick system, doors (sliding, entrance and revolving), steel handrails, roof structures and smoke vents.
