MIRA Tower is a 40-storey residential skyscraper overlooking San Francisco Bay, completed in 2020.

Our Permasteelisa colleagues in North America and Italy collaborated on the façade’s creation and installation, and the building stands as a testament to the strength of international teamwork across the Group. Along with a range of sustainable features, including an innovative cooling system, green roofs and high-efficiency fixtures, the high-performance façade has helped the project achieve LEED Gold certification.

The project

The concept

The building’sdesign is an evolution of the classic San Francisco bay window, with windows twisting incrementally up the height of the tower to provide views, light and air to the apartments.

What did we do?

Our colleagues in Italy and North America collaborated on the design, engineering, manufacture and installation of 18,600 sqm of façade – a total of 8,239 unitised curtain wall units. In addition, we provided 910 3D spandrel units, 5,978 infill and visual units, and 1,351 head track units and handrails for balconies.
