Louis Vuitton Gaysorn

Bangkok, Thailand

The Louis Vuitton store in the Gaysorn shopping centre in Bangkok is a new destination concept that includes an immersive exhibition, store, café and restaurant.

The building’s dynamic scenography and inspiring architecture invite visitors to discover the breadth of creation and imagination that Louis Vuitton represents – with a façade brightened by giant, glowing diamonds. It aims to bring a wider cultural experience into a single store, creating a dream-like atmosphere from its corner location.

The project

The concept

The ‘LV The Place Bangkok’ at Gaysorn Amarin spans two floors of the downtown retail complex, and features a façade adorned with 25 giant diamond shapes that illuminate at night.

What did we do?

We designed, engineered, supplied and installed four different sizes of giant Louis Vuitton diamonds constructed from structural steel and perforated aluminium sheets. Each diamond is 8.5m x 8.5m and weighs approximately 2.5 tonnes. Varying lengths of extruded aluminium ‘LV flower’ profiles – a total of 9,000 extruded flowers – were fastened to the front and back of the 25 different diamonds. We also installed integrated LED lighting to illuminate the shapes from both the front and back.
