EDGE East Side

At 142m, EDGE East Side is designed to be Germany’s healthiest skyscraper. Standing proudly on Warschauer Straße, the glass office tower’s striking façade has quickly become an icon of the Berlin skyline.

Maximising smart solutions and integrative design, EDGE East Side is a fusion of form, function and sustainability. In total, it offers 65,000 sqm of office space across 36 storeys, with tech company Amazon as its main tenant.

The project

The concept

Open architecture ensures EDGE East Side provides breezy, welcoming spaces. Significant portions of the first four floors and the 35^th floor are open to the public during business hours, offering vibrant spaces for local people and visitors to explore and enjoy. Sustainable features include the use of smart technology, recyclable products and VOC-free materials, as well as intelligent building energy management.

What did we do?

We designed, engineered, manufactured and installed a total of 30,000 sqm of façade for EDGE East Side. This includes unitised high-rise building façade (double-skin aluminium curtain wall with motorised venetian blinds in the naturally ventilated cavity), screen wall (ventilated façade) and terrace façades (aluminium curtain wall with doors, glass balustrades and opaque wall units). For the ground floor, we provided steel stick system glass façade, including revolving doors. For the podium, we supplied pre-unitised window façade with aluminium profiles, including access doors and soffit cladding.
