425 Park Avenue is a 262m-high skyscraper in the heart of Manhattan, New York City, with an impressive façade courtesy of two of our brands – Permasteelisa and Gartner.

Permasteelisa designed, engineered, manufactured and installed the highly transparent aluminium panels up the height of the tower, while Gartner created the entrance façade, interior glass walls in the lobby, and a stainless steel canopy that cantilevers along the entrance.

The project

The concept

This was the first full-block office development on Park Avenue for nearly 50 years. With approximately 670,000 sqm of rentable space, the project features finished ceiling heights of 2.9m, 4.4m and 12.5m with floor-to-ceiling glass, a club floor with collaborative space, gardens and spectacular views of the park.

What did we do?

Permasteelisa designed, engineered, manufactured and installed 37,500 sqm of highly transparent unitised curtain wall vision panels, stainless steel column cladding and solid panels at the back of the building. Amenity floors have a double-height steel façade.

Gartner created a 1,500 sqm entrance façade with 15m-high solid steel columns clad in stainless steel, with no visible transoms and a glazing pattern developed by Foster + Partners. We also supplied 750 sqm of interior glass walls in the lobby and a stainless steel canopy that cantilevers about 3m along the entrance over a length of 106m.
