25 North Colonnade is an iconic 80m high building in Canary Wharf, with a façade designed, manufactured and installed back in 1999 by colleagues from our Permasteelisa brand in Italy.
In 2022, our client Blackstone asked us to carry out extensive façade refurbishment, including dismantling of the existing façade and significant alterations to the building’s podium on three elevations (from lower ground to level 3).
Our work included the supply and installation of large glass panels to create a seamless transition between interior and exterior, and the addition of stainless-steel fins to pay homage to the site’s industrial heritage. Fully-glazed automatic revolving doors were installed at the south elevation entrance lobby, accompanied by an external glass canopy.
On the north elevation, we incorporated horizontal bi-fold doors to provide access to a new food venue. On levels 13, 15 and 17 we installed new balustrades, both glazed and metal, along with expanded metal mesh cladding. In addition, louvres and doors were integrated into the new façade cladding to enhance functionality and design.
