Permasteelisa Group secures £25m contract at Holborn viaduct, London
Permasteelisa Group has been appointed by Multiplex to deliver the bespoke curtain wall of the new Holborn Viaductbuilding, located in the heart of the City of London, close to St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Developed by Royal London Asset Management Limited, and designed by PLP Architecture, the new 13-storey building will house modern and sustainable offices, creating a workplace environment that is targeting BREEAM outstanding.
The buildings, which are eight and 10 storeys respectively have been designed by Eric Parry Architects. The façade of the City of London Law Court will feature granite and limestone and will represent a contemporary reworking of the historic civic buildings of the Square Mile.
Passive design principles inspired the facade’s structure and detailing; the depth and shape of the 15,500 sq m façade which will minimise solar gain whilst maximising natural daylight. Through the use of operable windows it will also provide natural ventilation, focused on delivering sustainability credentials and well-being to the occupants.
