Permasteelisa Group’s Gartner brand to deliver the façade for the KYKLOS Centre for Arts and Cultures in Piraeus, Greece

Permasteelisa Group’s Gartner brand has been awarded a multi-million Euro contract to deliver the façade for the KYKLOS Centre for Arts and Cultures, a new cultural hub currently under development in Piraeus, Greece.

Near the ‘Neo Faliro’ metro station, bordering Athens, the new Centre has been designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop (RPBW) and is set to open in late 2028. It aims to achieve the highest standards of sustainability and accessibility, and will bring together global art within an inspiring public space.

The specialist team – working alongside main contractor, BALLIAN Techniki Sa, will lead the design, engineering, manufacturing and installation of 4,000 sq m of bespoke façade, which will be a partially conditioned double-skin spanning 5m in height.

Designed as an accessible cavity with a customised aluminium-steel-hybrid system, the façade will also feature a bespoke sunshading system inside the cavity which will vertically rotate, be individually motorised and made of stainless-steel frames with fabric. An additional 2,000 sq m of glazed cantilevering canopies will complete the bespoke exterior.

With a mix of indoor galleries and open-air spaces, KYKLOS will act as a civic, inclusive and cultural meeting point, part of the city and open to the world.

Permasteelisa Group has already been formally appointed to start the design phase, with installation commencing in July 2027. The completion date is planned for February 2028 ahead of the Centre’s official opening later the same year.
