Creating the tallest church in the world – a video update
As we approach the end of the year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on one of the highlights of 2025 for Permasteelisa Group – helping to design, fabricate and install the cross for the top of the highest tower of Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudi’s masterpiece in the heart of Barcelona.
This stunning video captures the moment that the first section of the huge cross was lifted into place, bringing the church near to completion after 140 years of construction. Panoramic views of the city reflect the height of the tower – once the 17m-high cross has been installed, the Sagrada Familia will be the tallest church in the world, soaring to a height of 172m.
