The Col. H. Weir Cook Terminal at Indianapolis Airport, which became operational in 2008, features a sweeping steel and glass façade created by our team.

The 110,000 sqm terminal acts as a gateway for millions of passengers to the area. Designed by HOK, it has been named one of the ten most architecturally significant buildings completed in the city since World War 2. The terminal was designed for sustainability – the site includes the largest solar farm of any airport worldwide.

The project

The concept

The shape of the terminal building plays with the wind and natural lighting of the sun. The steel stick façade on the air traffic side of the building slopes outwards, forming a contrast to the land side façade. The atrium and atrium roof, constructed as a unitised aluminium façade, also serve as a skylight.

What did we do?

We designed, engineered, manufactured and installed around 7,000 sqm of steel stick façade for the terminal building and pedestrian crossing. In addition, we supplied a total area of 520 sqm for the walkways and atrium, and five entrances with glass sliding doors.
