Unitised façades
Global production capacity
Our global footprint enables us to leverage production capacity in multiple countries and enhance sustainability by manufacturing units as close to the final building’s location as possible.
Benefits of unitised production
Prefabricating and assembling façade panels in a controlled factory environment brings a range of benefits:
- Safety – reducing the operations carried out on site
- Quality and precision
- Flexibility in terms of complexity of design, materials and finishing
- Fast, efficient and cost-effective installation.
Supplementary systems
Our end-to-end approach to projects enables us to coordinate unitised panels with any other façade elements needed, for example stick system curtain wall assembled on-site.
Closed Cavity Façade (CCF)
CCF technology
CCF consists of a double-glazed unit on the inner layer and single glazing on the outer, forming a sealed, non-ventilated cavity. Low-pressure air is constantly blown into the cavity, ensuring it remains free from moisture, dust and dirt. Integrated, automated solar shading enables the façade to become a dynamic filter for thermal, solar and light transmittance, with live inputs used to optimise performance.
The benefits
Compared to a traditional, ventilated double skin façade, CCF offers:
- Moisture- and dirt-free double skin
- High transparency
- Easy, low-cost maintenance
- Long-lasting performance
- Outstanding daylight, thermal and acoustic properties
- Reduced embodied and operational carbon
- Excellent sustainability ratings
Blast protection
Bomb-blast solutions
Our team has been working with universities around the world to ensure our blast protection solutions harness the very best international expertise and technology. Using our own proprietary software, we design realistic, cost-effective blast-resistant solutions, including unitised façades, Closed Cavity Façade systems, stick systems and cable structures. All are rigorously tested against industry standards and can be adapted for different threat levels.
The benefits
- Protecting people and assets in the event of a blast
- Limiting damage and replacement costs
- Decreasing insurance costs
- No impact on architectural aesthetics and façade transparency
Steel-and-glass façades
Craft meets high-tech
Our steel specialists are experienced craftspeople, working with precision, passion and the very latest technology to create works of art in steel. Their work is supported by cutting-edge design – structures are created using detailed 3D modelling and parametric design to optimise geometries and engineer innovative, large-span façades.
Why choose steel?
Steel and glass are the perfect combination to create aesthetically pleasing, light-filled spaces. Steel provides long-lasting, strong structural support, enabling it to bear large spans and distribute loads efficiently. As a result, large glazed surfaces can be fitted within the steel framework, creating airy spaces flooded with natural light.
Complex geometries
3D design and production
To bring architects’ visions to life, our designers and engineers harness advanced digital tools, 3D modelling and parametric modelling. Once geometries are optimised and fully tested, the final façade panels are realised through the expertise and advanced fabrication methods at our specialist production facilities.
Projects worldwide
Across our brands and regions, we have created some of the world’s most geometrically complex, visually striking buildings, including Tour Hekla in Paris, Battersea Power Station Phase 3A in London, MIRA Tower in San Francisco, Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, and Musée des Confluences in Lyon.
Bespoke metal components
Our products
- Metal cladding systems for curtain walls, including architectural panels and spandrel units.
- Special architectural products, such as gutters, columns and fins, canopies and soffits.
- Ornamental and retail components, including planters, guardrails, handrails, gratings, and terrace and main hall metal cladding.
Projects worldwide
We are proud to have contributed our metalwork to some of the world’s best-known, most iconic buildings – from Battersea Power Station in London and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, to The Spiral in New York and Hamad International Airport in Doha.
