Concepts

We are recognised globally for our unique ability to translate the most innovative, complex architectural concepts into practical solutions that are both technically and economically feasible. We are proud to have designed, built and installed buildings created by the world’s leading architects; for example, we have worked on a total of 17 buildings designed by the legendary architect Frank Gehry.

Early engagement, even before project award, enables us to support architects and clients with feasibility studies, cost planning and technical advice. This can include freeform geometry rationalisation and panelisation, material choices, installation methodology, and early sustainability studies to shape the energy efficiency of the final solution.
Design

Our talented designers and engineers work closely with architects, clients and contractors to realise innovative, practical solutions. Their work is key to ensuring that the project runs smoothly, with quality and safety designed in from the outset.

We bring designs to life through a combination of 2D drawings, advanced 3D modelling, structural verifications, visual mock-ups and systems testing. Using BIM (Building Information Modelling) throughout design, engineering and production supports the smooth management of information, scheduling, costs and risks.

The result? Bespoke design solutions that exceed expectations in terms of aesthetics, performance, price, safety, durability, usability, and running costs.
Management

From the very early stages, our projects are characterised by outstanding collaboration, communication and teamwork, both internally and with architects, clients and contractors.

Our expert project managers are the lynchpin, seamlessly co-ordinating and monitoring each project from design and engineering through to installation and aftercare. Acting as the client interface, they share updates and suggest improvements as appropriate – openness and transparency are integral to our work at Permasteelisa Group.

Testing

Because so much of our work is custom, testing and prototyping are in our DNA at Permasteelisa Group. Our production sites include specialist testing facilities where we create visual mock-ups to assess aesthetics and fit, and performance mock-ups to test our products’ durability in the harshest environmental conditions.

As part of the process of creating innovative façade solutions, our designers and engineers produce many prototypes to test fit-up, verify concepts and assess solutions at actual scale. This can include everything from sampling materials and specifying performance and connection points, to full-scale realisations of architects’ ideas.

Our rigorous testing regime is also key to ensuring compliance – with both clients’ specifications and relevant standards.
Quality

To ensure we deliver the highest quality custom façade solutions, we have developed rigorous quality assurance and quality control protocols from material supply through to installation. We tailor the production process for each project, verifying that our products meet project specifications and client needs.

Production

Our production facilities in Europe and the United States are equipped with the most advanced machining and assembly technologies. Using standardised BIM modelling in all our design offices enables us to send CNC data direct to our manufacturing facilities for accurate, reliable machining.

Production lines are designed and set up for each individual project, to ensure the highest possible quality and efficiency. Some of our production lines maintain ‘clean-room’ standards, equipped with automated glass washing and inspection facilities (essential for our closed cavity façade products). Our production specialists pride themselves on precision and painstaking attention to detail, ensuring exceptional quality throughout.

Our end-to-end approach, overseen by the project management team, helps to smooth the procurement, production and logistics process. We work with a network of trusted suppliers to meet the material needs of each project. Products are fabricated in lots and precisely packed for fast and efficient delivery to site and installation.
Installation

Large-scale developments involve highly interconnected systems and require innovative approaches to installation. We design for installation from the earliest stages of a project, solving extraordinary challenges through careful co-ordination of bespoke installation processes. Our goal is to improve time and cost efficiency while maintaining exceptional quality.

We collaborate with site colleagues to put in place a delivery plan for materials that supports rapid and efficient installation. Our experienced team ensures the quality of products during transit and once unpacked on site. Our installation specialists work to extremely high standards, operating as efficiently as possible while never compromising on safety or quality.
Aftercare

After project completion, we guarantee excellent support services to honour our warranty commitments.

We also offer a full range of inspection, maintenance and cleaning services to enhance the performance and extend the lifespan of our façades, preserving value and reducing long-term costs. This can include preventative maintenance based on regular inspections, including cleaning and repair, clearing internal drainage channels between barriers, part replacement, and preventative treatments.
